Our Team
Our team is comprised of students dedicated to advancing financial literacy.
Kai Kobayashi
CEO/Founder
Kai Kobayashi is a high school student from Okinawa, Japan, the founder of the Global Finance Library, and the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Nexa AI.
He developed a deep interest in finance and economics after realizing how profoundly these fields influence opportunity, social mobility, and the direction of global development. As he began studying independently, Kai noticed a major gap: despite finance being essential for modern life, most schools—both in Japan and around the world—offer limited, inaccessible, or outdated resources on the subject.
Determined to change this, Kai founded the Global Finance Library (GFL), a free, bilingual learning platform designed to make financial literacy accessible to every student. Through curated high-quality e-books, educational tools, and student-centered resources, GFL lowers barriers to financial education and empowers young people to understand markets, make informed decisions, and engage with the global economy.
In addition to building the platform, Kai leads outreach to schools worldwide, develops new learning pathways, and promotes financial education across communities. He is also spearheading the Japan Youth Investment Competition, a nationwide initiative created under GFL to give students hands-on experience with investing, teamwork, and real-world financial problem-solving.
Kai believes that finance and economics are not just academic subjects—they are powerful tools for empowerment. Through his work, he aims to inspire a new generation of globally minded students equipped with the knowledge to navigate, shape, and improve the world’s financial future.
